In a recent blog post, we shared our thoughts on Revenue Cloud vs Salesforce CPQ, including considerations for migrating to Revenue Cloud. At the time of writing the post, there were some rumors as to whether CPQ (formerly Steelbrick CPQ) is on its way to the morgue.

What has been suspected for some time now was recently confirmed by the folks over at Salesforce Ben: Salesforce CPQ will soon be entering an “End of Sale” (EOS) phase.

With this news, it’s clear that CPQ is no longer a strategic priority for Salesforce, although current customers will still be able to use the product and renew their subscription. CPQ customers will also continue to receive product support from Salesforce, but it can be expected that Salesforce will invest heavily in Revenue Cloud as the future of Quote-to-Cash.

With no major product updates in over four years or AI roadmap for Salesforce CPQ, it makes sense that Salesforce would want to nudge their CPQ customers over to Revenue Cloud (which is fully built on the core Salesforce platform).

Although there hasn’t been an official “end of life” declaration from Salesforce, companies currently using Salesforce CPQ should start thinking about their game plan for migrating to Revenue Cloud.

While Salesforce CPQ may not go away overnight, customers that don’t prioritize migrating to Revenue Cloud may eventually face the challenge of failing integrations, bugs that take longer to resolve, and less than stellar support. If you don’t want to face the risk of running outdated and unsupported software, we recommend working with our team to migrate from Salesforce CPQ to Revenue Cloud.

Let’s take a closer look at what Revenue Cloud can do for your business and our top five reasons for migrating from CPQ to Revenue Cloud.

What is Salesforce Revenue Cloud?

Revenue Cloud can be best understood as a platform for running your entire revenue lifecycle on Salesforce instead of relying on other tools and services. Revenue Cloud goes beyond Salesforce CPQ and handles all of your revenue management needs — from pricing, quoting, contracting, fulfillment, and billing — on one unified platform.

While Salesforce CPQ operates as a managed package and requires additional add-ons to further extend its capabilities, Revenue Cloud offers a native API-first approach for products.

Revenue Cloud can also support complex processes and integrations, including the use of Agentforce AI Agents. Because CPQ is an installed package, it doesn’t support AI-driven capabilities.

The following capabilities make Revenue Cloud a unique product and comprehensive solution for managing your entire revenue lifecycle:

For companies with evolving revenue management needs — such as handling subscriptions, dynamic pricing strategies, and complex post-sale workflows like renewals, provisioning, and fulfillment — Revenue Cloud provides a scalable solution to bridge this gap.

Our Top 5 Reasons to Migrate from Salesforce CPQ to Revenue Cloud

Salesforce is redefining the future of Quote-to-Cash, and Revenue Cloud is at the center of this transformation. If you’re still using Salesforce CPQ, now is the time to consider making the move. Here are five compelling reasons why migrating to Revenue Cloud is not only a smart decision, but necessary for business success.

1. Future of Quote-to-Cash at Salesforce

Salesforce CPQ is entering an “End of Sale” (EOS) phase, meaning it will no longer be available for new customers. While Salesforce will continue supporting CPQ, there won’t be any further enhancements.

Meanwhile, Revenue Cloud is receiving massive investments from Salesforce, with new innovations rolling out in every release. By transitioning now, you can future-proof your Quote-to-Cash processes with a platform that’s actively evolving.

2. Out-of-the-Box AI

Salesforce recently showcased how Agentforce can streamline quote creation in Revenue Cloud, enabling sales teams to generate accurate and compliant quotes faster than ever.

Revenue Cloud is natively built on Core, allowing seamless integration with AI Agents Out-of-the-Box. CPQ is an installed package and requires more customization to support AI driven capabilities such as Agentforce.

3. Seamless Extensibility

With Revenue Cloud, you can easily expand your sales channels, including launching storefronts wherever your customers need them. Unlike CPQ, which requires additional licensing and implementation to connect with B2B Commerce, Revenue Cloud is designed for flexibility, making it easier to scale and adapt to changing business needs.

4. Enhanced Feature Set

Revenue Cloud brings advanced Quote-to-Cash functionality directly into Salesforce, reducing reliance on external tools. From improved contract management to dynamic pricing models, Revenue Cloud offers a more comprehensive and cohesive experience compared to CPQ’s standalone structure.

5. Greater Customization & Automation

Unlike CPQ, which operates as a “black box” with limited customization for pricing, renewals, and amendments, Revenue Cloud is built for flexibility. It features a fully customizable pricing engine and automation powered by Flows and Apex — making it easier for Salesforce Admins to configure and maintain without heavy reliance on developers.

By making the move from CPQ to Revenue Cloud, your business can stay ahead of the curve with a solution that is more intelligent, scalable, and future-ready. Now is the time to transition and unlock the full potential of Salesforce’s evolving Quote-to-Cash capabilities.
